About Us

Homegrown Entertainment was created in part by Christopher Harrison and John Mele in the hopes that a stronger voice for independent filmmakers would be heard from the East Lansing, Michigan area. Homegrown Entertainment was started in 2005 at Michigan State University
and has been a formidable competitor in the independent film industry in East Lansing.


Winning third place at the 2007 48/5 competition held by the East Lansing Film Festival we hope to grow and progress into a full fledged production company with solid investors and significant studio space. With this past accomplishment we hope to promote Homegrown Entertainment through multiple mediums such as newspapers, the internet, and most importantly, word of mouth.
